"...to establish a company founded on excellence and compassion to care for and develop individuals with developmental disabilities by providing a variety of active & enjoyable services in an environment that is conducive to learning, elicits growth, produces individualized opportunities and creates a sense of community."
Volunteering will be based upon the needs of each person enrolled via the Individualized Service and Day Habilitation Plans. We have networked with area companies in each of the counties in the Capital District forming partnerships for volunteer efforts. We select sights that provide the best opportunities for doing meaningful work and gain skills that will be useful for life.
We are committed to our volunteer sites to provide weekly support at regular times. Volunteer opportunities not only allow us to give back to the community on a large scale, but it enriches people lives as they gain life skills and have the opportunity to develop a good healthy attitude of service. Our staff instruct participants in listening skills, following instructions, keeping attention to the task, doing things with excellence, cleaning up a work area, interacting with peers and overseers, and having a positive, thankful attitude while doing so. Volunteering provides a wonderful sense of accomplishment, focus and purpose in society.
